Selected for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ FY2026 ICT Startup League
Jun 18, 2026We are pleased to announce that SynTopic has been selected for Support II of the FY2026 ICT Startup League, a support program based on the Emerging Research and Development Support Program for Startup Creation administered by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
Launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in fiscal year 2023, the ICT Startup League provides multifaceted support for startup growth. This includes research and development funding, hands-on assistance from industry experts, and public relations support through collaboration with media organizations.

A Knowledge Structuring Platform for Detecting Project Oversights
Project Overview
We will develop a knowledge structuring platform that implements the structuring capabilities of Model-Based Systems Engineering, or MBSE, using standards compatible with existing tools. The platform is designed to automatically detect potential oversights in project design and operations.
Background
In fields such as aerospace and defense, where a single oversight can lead to a serious accident, methods have been developed to structure design intent and underlying assumptions through MBSE, thereby preventing omissions and inconsistencies.
However, these approaches have primarily been adopted in a limited number of highly reliable fields that can secure specialized personnel. They have yet to become widely accessible across many development environments.
In manufacturing and other industries, the reasoning behind decisions and the knowledge underlying them often remain as tacit knowledge held by individual employees or are dispersed across multiple tools and documents. Even when information has been recorded, its relationships and historical context can be difficult to understand, resulting in oversights that conventional reviews alone may not identify.
There is therefore a need for a system that can detect such oversights by using existing information without requiring organizations to make significant changes to their daily workflows.
Research and Development Activities
During the support period, we will refine our business plan, conduct field validation with existing customers, and develop a more concrete expansion strategy for the target industries in preparation for commercializing the platform.
Rather than requiring organizations to migrate to a dedicated tool, the platform will connect and structure knowledge distributed across existing tools and documents. Through this approach, we aim to identify gaps in design and operational risks at an early stage.
Future Development
We will initially focus on fields that require a high level of reliability, including aerospace, defense, and manufacturing, while advancing field validation and product development.
We subsequently plan to expand the platform to a broad range of industries, including regulated sectors. By reducing rework and accidents caused by overlooked information, we aim to improve the quality of both design and operations.
